Today's almost every Engineering & Professional graduate programs in india entail summer training as an indispensable part of their curriculum with an objective to enhance the knowledge of the students on different cutting edge technologies which have become important part of respective industries.

Importance and Objective of Industrial Training


Industrial Training is the important strategy to expose students to real work life situations and to equip them with the necessary skills that intensify their job acumen. Industrial training program or training related program can be continuously improved through formal review and evaluation of its outcome.

A key element in an engineering curriculum is an exposure to the Professional engineering practice sought through industrial training. Industrial training has traditionally been weighed as a potent grooming of the professional career of a fresh engineering graduate and it is the common method of the harvesting skilled engineers. A well structured industrial training program as a part of curricula has been recommended, But it is not made compulsory. In addition to this, other structured industrial projects within the engineering curriculum are required to strengthen the practical skills of the students.

The IoT Training by uit

The IoT Training by uit Innovation lab is a 14-week kit based online training program in the field of electronics, cloud, analytics, sensor/actuator integration, and building intelligent internet-connected devices. This training will give you extensive insight into the world of the Internet of Things. As you progress through the training you will work on the following projects using the Bolt IoT kit: - Environment monitoring application which senses the changes in light intensity, an Internet-connected alert system to evacuate your premise in case of an emergency like fire, earthquake, terror attack, Web-based temperature data logger for pharmaceutical companies, Automated alerts over SMS and E-Mail. In the last module, you will also learn about building physical devices like a temperature monitor that posts tweets automatically. For doubt clearing, you can post your queries on the forum and get answers within 24 hours.

Knowledge and understanding of

·         Smart phone architecture and technologies

·         Arm-based SoCs: architecture and development

·         Appcessory programming and embedded programming

·         BLE technology

·         Sensor networks and applications

·         IoT fundamentals

Intellectual

·         Ability to specify, design and develop a smartphone based networked electronic system, which entails appcessory development, MCU programming, and connected app development

·         Ability to use the Arm Mbed IoT Device Platform and Android SDK to create smartphone apps and control end devices such as a mini robot or a wearable health device

Practical

·         Design and implement an appcessory with BLE connectivity using standard mobile application development tools 

·         Program an Arm based BLE-connected MCU using mbed development tools 

·         Develop demonstration applications e.g. smartphone-based, sensor station 

Pre-requisites

·         Basics of programming in C/ C++, assembly, Entry level Java programming

·      Separate purchase of hardware and/or software tools, in order to replicate the course labs
